Paul Broun to Run for Senate, Wife Announces
0According to his wife, Representative Paul Broun intends to run for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Saxby Chambliss in 2014. This mirrors accounts I have heard from his family regarding his “prayerful consideration” of a run. Below is an excerpt from someone who was in attendance.:
He will face a good number of qualified candidates in the Republican primary. With Representative Broun’s announcement that he wants to run for Senate, we decided to put together a collection of the best quotes from his tenure that we could find:
“All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell”
“I think the only Constitution that Barack Obama upholds is the Soviet constitution, not this one.”
On Obama’s expansion of civil service for youth: “That’s exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did.”
When asked if Obama is a citizen: “I don’t know.”
On the BP oil spill: “And I’ve had numerous people, all over the district, question whether his poor response to this oil spill was purposeful so that he could promote his energy tax. I don’t know, maybe.”
“I don’t believe that the earth is but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them.”
On Obamacare: “Eventually, mama will be lying in bed until she gets pneumonia and dies”
“This program of ‘government option’ is being touted as being the panacea, the savior of allowing people to have quality health care at an affordable price is gonna kill people.”
“If ObamaCare passes, that free insurance card that’s in people’s pockets is gonna be as worthless as a Confederate dollar after the War Between The States — the Great War of Yankee Aggression.”
“They want to give all the power to the federal government to force you to eat more fruits and vegetables. This is what the federal, CDC, they gonna be calling you to make sure you eat fruits and vegetables, every day. This is socialism of the highest order!”
On clean energy legislation: “A lot of people aren’t gonna be able to afford to run their air condition anymore . . . They’re gonna get dehydration and people are gonna have a lot of problems and it’s gonna have a greater impact on our health care system and people are gonna die because of that.”
Finally, maybe one of my favorite, is Broun being smacked down by Civil Rights Legend, Representative John Lewis, who also comes from Georgia. Broun attempted to defund the Voting Rights Act. Check out the video below:
